(Finished film script about the epic life of John Sutter, the last of the great pioneers. He's considered a minor part of history now, but for ten years until the gold rush, John Sutter was the most powerful man in California.)
SYONARA SEXUAL GLASTNOST
(Completed one act play about AIDS. Several successful readings. Could work now as a 1989 period piece. Script not currently available electronically.
FOUR DAYS AFTER TITANIC
A one act version and a full length version of this play has now been produced. A High school teacher in South Dakota was looking for a play about the big ship, went to Google, found this outline, read an excerpt and asked me to customize the script.
The play, (which could be a screenplay) is about the then famous senate investigative hearings where survivors and others involved were called to testify. A lot of the bone-chilling diologue comes word for word from the actual transcripts.The Titanic floundered early on a Monday morning. The rescue ship arrived in New York that Thursday night. The next morning the hearings began and survivors testified, just days after the sinking. To read the one act script go to the "Produced Plays" link.
AN ABSENCE OF LOVE
Unfinished family drama. It's a play about living with the sins of parents, power, greed and avoiding responsibility after a family member commits suicide.
EXCUSES
A serious children's play about kids making excuses. Abused and poverty stricken kids have lots of legitimate excuses for not succeeding and giving up before they start. But to make it in the cold world you have to work hard and make less excuses, even though you may have every right to be a victim. I haven't even started the outline yet, let alone the script, because I'm just too busy. The irony isn't lost on me.
