Though this mural took five months from conception to completion, the majority of the mural was painted in an exhaustive seven week marathon of 10-12 hour
days with no days off during the fall of 2007. Twice a week my friend of 30 years Dan Multiboots Martin gave invaluable help. (Other helpers ran off after one day, can't blame 'em.)
Note: The base coats of this mural, (about half blue and half green) were sprayed on with house paint. The rest of the mural was painted with acrylics.
I did not paint the floor, I sketched out the design in chalk then a flooring company masked each section and rolled on epoxy paint, then while the paint was still wet, paint chips of the same color were sprinkled in. Then coats of water based polyurethane were added.
